KINDERGARTEN NEWS

Fall, Winter, and Spring 2007-2008:
Day 150 - We made kites! The day was warm and sunny, with just a little wind.
Day 147 - We presented our spring musical in the morning for everyone at St. Mary's School, and in the afternoon for our parents and grandparents. We sang a lot of fun songs. And we got to talk in a microphone!
Day 139 Happy Earth Day! Mrs. Fischer from Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management came to talk to us about recyling.
Day 133 - Father Steve taught us about Baptism. He pretended to Baptize our classroom doll. We named her Katherine Elly Kindergarten. Katherine's whole family came to celebrate with her. Lauren was the Mom; Brendin was the Dad. Myra was the Godmother; Wyatt was the Godfather. Katherine had 2 brothers - David & Hunter. The Grandparents were Isaac, Sami, Nate, and Ashley. Uncle Derek and Uncle Devon came. Cousin Jaden, cousin Landyn, and cousin Nathan came too.
Day 132 - This is a town for our Teddy Bears to work and play. We made an apartment building, a school, a church, a hotel, a firestation, a police station, the hockey arena and Bear Mart.
We learned about working in a factory. There were many different jobs - tracing, cutting, face drawing, sewing, and stuffing. We were paid a quarter for our work. Then we went to the store and bought a Teddy Bear!
Day 119 - After learning about Jesus and the Easter story, we celebrated with some Easter fun!

Day 119 - Through the season of Lent, our school had a Penny War. We donated $1000.00 to the United Way. They are using the money to buy shoes for kids in need.
Day 118 - We were invited to the Anderson Florist's spring open house. We saw lots of colorful flowers and baby animals: chicks, rabbits, goats etc. . . .
Day 105 - Our parents joined us for our Luncheon Theatre. We presented our Tooth Play, sang our February songs, and then ate lunch.
Day 104 - February is the month to learn about Dental Health
Day 100
If we had $100 - Nathan would buy lots of chocolate. Landyn would buy a new hockey stick and a puck. Sami would buy a swing set. Nate would buy a real race car. Ashley would buy lots of flowers for her mom. Devon would buy a Turbo Truck. Brendin would buy a hockey puck. Isaac would buy a water ski. Jaden would buy a motorcycle. Lauren would buy lots of candy. Derek would buy a 4 wheeler. Myra would buy a fake car that kids can really drive.
Day 100 - A real Zero, the Hero came to visit!
Day 86 - We think toys from the 1920's are fun!
Day 86 - Grandma Katherine taught us how to make ice cream.
Day 85 - Our 5th grade buddies helped us make stuffed kindergarten kids.
We each have a twin!
Day 84 - Grandma Katherine showed us how baking was done when she was a little girl.
Day 83 - Grandma Katherine taught us a game that she played when she was 6 years old.
Day 79 -Did you know that when Grandma Delores was a little girl, her parents made the mattress for her bed?
Day 77 - Our 1st history lesson. Pour the cream in a jar, and shake, shake, shake. We made butter! We put the butter on crackers. YUM!
Day 75 - We are learning how to use a ruler.
Day 67 - It's time to change the season! We celebrated with Hot Chocolate and a story called "Wintertime".
Day 66 - Here we are, all dressed up for our Christmas program.
Day 65 - Would you like to join us for snack? We made Rudolph sandwiches!
Day 62 - Meet our 5th grade teachers! They come to our classroom every Wednesday morning.
Day 56 - Our Christmas fun has begun!
Day 54 - Do you like our new glasses?
Day 50 - Happy Thanksgiving from a bunch of happy turkeys!
Day 46 - Uncle Sam and Andy came to teach us about the American Flag.
Day 42-45 - We had fun learning about the Native Americans. They taught the Pilgrims how to hunt, fish, and plant vegetables.
Day 40 - Do you know why the Pilgrims sailed to America on the Mayflower? They wanted to be free to worship God.
Day 39 - We had a Halloween Costume Party!
Day 27 - We went to the fire station. It was fire prevention week!

Day 14 - We celebrated the last school day of summer. Fall began on Sept. 23!
Day 9 - Meet our friend Pikachu! He came to help us compare living and non-living things.
Day 4 - Look at these clowns! We were cutting shapes.
Day 2 & 3 - We learned all about bus safety.

Day 1 - We went on a bear hunt. We looked for Golden Bear all over the school. Finally, we found him in the principal's office, visiting with Mr. Sladek.
