Hours of Operation
Kid Kare will operate on all days that school is in regular session. No program will be offered on holidays or vacation days. Kid Kare will begin at the close of the school day around 2:30 p.m. and be provided until 6:00 p.m. A late fee of $5 will be charged for every 15 minutes or fraction thereof after 6:00 p.m.
Early Dismissal and Cancellation of School
If school dismisses early or is cancelled due to severe weather, Kid Kare will not be open. (No exceptions.) Please listen to local radio stations for school closing information. Parents are responsible for making alternative plans, as indicated on the Emergency Closing Form. (See Parent Handbook) Please discuss your severe weather plans with your child.
Fees
A $10 registration fee is to be paid at the time the child is enrolled. A child will not be considered enrolled and no slot will be reserved until the registration fee is paid. Fees are due and payable on or before the last school day of the week to the Kid Kare supervisor. Kid Kare fees may be tax deductible as child care so please keep your own records of payment. Statements will not be sent. Failure to pay fees in a timely manner will result in possible suspension of future use of the program.
One hour or less: $4.00
More than one hour: $8.00
Dropping Off & Releasing of Children
Children will be released only to their parents or another adult authorized in advance by the parents on the release forms provided. That individual may be required to show identification before the child will be released if it is someone the child cannot identify. A parent or authorized person must sign the child out from the program. If the parent desires, a child may be allowed to sign themselves out at a regular, predetermined time. This arrangement must be made in writing, clearly stating the time the child will be allowed to leave. Under this arrangement, the parent(s) accepts sole responsibility for the safety of the child. The child’s destination should be a reasonable walking distance from the school.
Medical Emergency or Illness
If a child becomes ill while at Kid Kare, parents will be notified and asked to pick up the child as soon as possible. In the event of a medical emergency or accident, the staff will follow the procedures listed under Medical Emergencies in the Parent Handbook. If your child should receive a minor injury, he/she will be given first aid and you will be notified of the type of first aid given when you come to pick up your child.
Use of Medication
Please refer to the medication procedures in the Parent Handbook.
Insurance
Health insurance for children is not covered in our program. Parents are asked to have their own insurance coverage.
Discipline
Discipline policies and rules in effect during the school day are enforced in the after-school program. Personal toys are not to be brought to Kid Kare unless prior permission is granted by the staff (i.e. toys include Game Boys, Pokemon cards). While the after school program is less structured, respect and responsibility will always be required if a child is to remain in the program.
Snacks
A snack will be served. If your child has special dietary needs or restrictions, you should send special snacks for your child and alert Kid Kare staff to your child's special situation.
Facilities
Kid Kare will be held in Room 202.
